Always looking to improve products when possible, this is the goldilocks version after years of testing and feedback over hundreds of units. This is an tighter-tolerance replica of the stock lower ball for all classic 900s, so it can be used as a replacement part for the OEM shifter or the late style is a replacement/spare for the MCS Short Throw Shifter. Color may vary.

Early Shifters have a split plastic center pivot with a heavy spring. The upper section and spring need to be reused. The new lower section uses a steel pin instead of plastic which is often a failure point and causes the selector shaft to spin. Verify which style of shifter as it is not uncommon for them to have been swapped over the years as the assemblies are universal.

Late shifters have a split (welded) shaft and a metal pivot which can be seen under the shift gaiter.
