These trim pieces are a common weak point on an otherwise pristine restoration. The original parts use a thin metal extrusion with a plastic overlay that tends to crack, shrink, and lose its seal against the body, which allows water to seep in through the mounting holes.

Reproducing this part meant simplifying the design for durability while preserving the complex shape and clean factory appearance. After extensive testing and multiple redesigns, the final version delivers on all fronts.

The finished product is made from UV-resistant plastic (Left & Right) and mounts using stainless steel studs, Santoprene sealing washers, and new flange nuts to ensure a secure, easy installation..

Since Studs are threaded directly into plastic , it is important to not over tighten the mounting nuts. Tighten with light wrench pressure just until sealing washers are fully compressed.
